In 2024, E.GEO Italia, GER SA and Planeto SA signed a commercial partnership agreement, forming the EGEO International alliance. By joining their complementary skills, the partners offer a one-stop solution for geothermal projects of every kind. This spans E.GEO’s design, installation and maintenance expertise, GER’s subsurface and geothermal know-how, and Planeto’s digital network design and optimisation tools. Clients deal with a single partner from resource assessment through to system delivery and operation. The alliance aims to bring E.GEO Italia’s proven excellence and experience to the international market, with a focus on Switzerland, France and the United Kingdom.

E.GEO Italia is part of the Veos Group, which strengthens its position in the energy transition arena. The group offers a broader range of technology solutions, including biomass, photovoltaics and the manufacture of innovative high-temperature heat pumps for residential and industrial use. The group also brings its own financing capabilities to support clients’ projects.

Planeto SA is a partner of GER SA within the EGEO International alliance and specialises in the digital planning and optimisation of thermal energy networks. Its tools and expertise help developers, municipalities and building owners design heating and cooling systems that are technically sound and economically viable from the earliest project stages.

Core capabilities:

• Network design and simulation. Planeto models and simulates thermal networks, including low-temperature and 5th-generation systems, to test layouts, operating conditions and performance before construction.
• Building demand forecasting. It estimates the heating and cooling needs of individual buildings and entire districts, the basis for correctly sizing any system.
• Energy source sizing and optimisation. It determines the optimal size and combination of energy sources, such as geothermal, heat pumps and other renewables, to meet demand efficiently.
• Economic viability analysis. It assesses investment costs, operating costs and financial returns so that clients can compare scenarios and make informed decisions.
• API and AI integration. Its platform connects to third-party tools and data sources through APIs and uses artificial intelligence to speed up analysis and improve the accuracy of results.
• Phased development planning. Planeto structures the network’s roll-out in successive phases, aligned with demand growth, available funding and connection priorities. This spreads investment over time and reduces project risk while keeping the network scalable.
